So I am back in the UK after a fantastic whirlwind trip to China with some very exciting news.
This time exactly one week ago in China, my collection was showcased on the catwalk alongside 25 other amazing young designers from across the world for the ‘Pheonix Village Cup’ 2014 NingBo International Fashion Design Grand Prix. I am absolutely thrilled to have been awarded the overall winning prize of the Gold Award for my Mens Knitwear collection.
The competition was incredibly tough as there were so many beautiful collections both in mens and womenswear. I was so shocked to have my name called out last as the overall winner and could not quite believe it at the time, particularly as the majority of the ceremony was announced in Chinese (of which I have very limited knowledge!).
It was an amazing opportunity to visit China and it is just fantastic to have returned home with a trophy. I am incredibly proud both of myself and of the other graduates from my Fashion Course at Manchester School of Art who also won individual prizes. My collection will remain in China for the next 6 months alongside the Silver and Bronze prize winner’s work. But you can still find lots of photographs of it here in the work section of my website.
Below are some photos from the catwalk, I’m afraid they aren’t the best ever, but they will do for the moment!
